Bull case
In our view, GEN is a disliked cash machine: 81M paying customers, a 50% non-GAAP operating margin and $1.52B of free cash flow last fiscal year, at 9.5x EBITDA and 8.1x guided EPS. The price implies Cyber Safety shrinks about 1% a year, against 3-4% comparable growth for five straight quarters. Catalysts: Q2 on Oct 28 (guide $1.325-1.350B, $0.71-0.73), buybacks with $1.99B left, and control value of $47-58 a share. Bull $52.65 at 17.2x EBITDA, inside the 15.6-18.6x buyers paid for McAfee and Avast.
Bear case
The GoDaddy approach could become a debt-funded deal with net leverage above 4x. OS-native security and AI assistants may take the low end of Cyber Safety. MoneyLion adds credit risk if loss on sale passes 6%. Say-on-pay failed with 40.6% support. Nearly all equity value is terminal: FY27-31 cash flow is worth $13.68 a share against $13.48 of net debt. Bear $21.25 (-10.1%): revenue roughly flat after FY27, margin down to 40% and 0.5% terminal growth, close to the last twelve months repeating with no growth ($21.34).
